For the heat exchanger:
-
Loosen the hose clamps and disconnect the air hoses from the heat exchanger.
-
Loosen the cap screws holding the assembly to the tailpipe.
-
Remove the exchanger.
7.11.3 Cabin Heater Inspection

L2 or LAME (A&P or LSA Repairman / Maintenance)
Return to Service:
L2 or LAME (A&P or LSA Repairman / Maintenance)
Check for cracking or splitting of the cabin heat hose.
Ensure there is free movement of the control cable.
Check for free movement of the butterfly valve. Ensure the valve is closing fully in both the ON
and OFF positions.
Ensure the locking pin components are all in working order.
Check that the heat exchanger is secure on the exhaust and not damaged.
Any damaged or inoperative parts will need to be replaced, repair is not possible on these
components.

For installation, reverse removal procedure above.
