10. Fuel Quick Drains
Test fuel at each drain ..............................CHECK for contamination
11. Stand Back Inspection
Stand back from the aircraft & check for anything “out of place”. i.e: assuming the aircraft is on flat
ground if the wingtips are not level it can indicate damage to the undercarriage.
Turn all external lights on ..........................CHECK for correct function
Wings level ...............................................CHECK.
All hatches & fairings secure .....................CHECK
Nothing out of place ..................................CHECK
12. Cockpit
Quantity in both fuel tanks ........................CHECK SUFFICIENT
Ignition Switches.......................................OFF
Control lock (if fitted) .................................REMOVE
Fuel valve .................................................ON
Master switch ...........................................ON
Alternator Warning Light ...........................CONFIRM ON Before Start
Wing flaps ................................................RETRACT
Master Switch ...........................................OFF
Control cables & fasteners ........................CHECK
Rudder & nose wheel steerage linkage.....CHECK
Rudder centring springs ............................CHECK
Controls (all) .............................................CHECK full travel, free movement.
Harnesses & Seats ...................................CHECK CONDITION
Windshield ................................................CLEANLINESS
Cockpit area .............................................GENERAL CONDITION
Loose objects ...........................................SECURE
Cockpit Doors/Latches..............................CONDITION & OPERATION
POH .........................................................AVAILABLE
Carbon monoxide detector .......................CHECK EXPIRY
Note: for aircraft not fitted with an ‘Alternator Warning Light’, the EIS engine monitor is used to give
an indication of voltage.
