Honeywell
Digital
Thermostat
MOUNTING THE THERMOSTAT
The thermostat must be mounted on an interior
centrally located wall. Place it away from direct
sunlight, drafts, and approximately 5 feet above the
floor. It is not required that they be level. Place them
right next to each other.
See Fig. 6.
A Honeywell digital thermostat is furnished with this
furnace that controls the room temperature when
you are burning wood/coal. This thermostat also
controls the air conditioning, if applicable.
If you have no plans for air conditioning you will
need a 3-wire thermostat cable from your furnace to
your thermostat. If you intend to install air
conditioning a 5-wire thermostat cable is required.
TYPICAL THERMOSTAT SETTINGS
Set the thermostat above room temperature. The
draft inducer motor should now be running.
Be sure to load the wood according to the call for
heat or the temperature outside so that the
thermostat calls for heat and will cycle appropriately
for the amount of wood in the firebox.
Once the thermostat is satisfied, the draft inducer
motor will stop running until there is another call for
heat.
