REEL ASSEMBLY _________________________________________________________
1.
Uncrate reels and seperate into two left hand and
three right hand units.
2.
Place the left hand mowers under the left wing and
left front lift arm. Place the right hand mowers under
the center, right wing, and right front lift arm.
3.
Remove all shipping bands and braces from the lift
arms. Start engine and fully lower the lift arms. Shut
off engine and remove key.
4.
Assemble the lift yoke to motor end of mower, using
1/2-13 x 1-1/2” screw (E), lockwasher (G),
flatwashers (F or J), spacer (H) and square nut (I).
5.
Assemble lift yoke to counterweight end of mower,
using 1/2-13 x 1-3/4” screw (J), lockwasher (G),
flatwashers (F or J), spacer (H) and square nut (I).
6.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each mower.
Note:
For front and center mowers, use the larger (F)
flat washers (1-3/8” O.D.) on outside of lift yoke. For
wing mowers, use smaller (J) flat washers (1-1/16”
O.D.) on outside of lift yokes.
7.
If mower is to be operated in fixed mode, Assemble
3/8-16 x 1-1/4” screws, flatwashers, lockwashers
and nuts (K) to mowers as shown. [Section 4.17]
8.
If mower is to be operated in floating mode,
purchase and assemble front roller, following
directions supplied with roller. [Section 4.17]
9.
If installing 10 blade reels, (Model No. 67806),
assemble down pressure assembly (P) and install
on casting end of each mower using 3/8-16 x 1”
screw (L) and spacer (M).
10. Remove protective plug (N) and belt cover (O) from
belt housing. Keep plug (N) in a safe place for use
when reels are removed from tractor.
11. Loosely assemble reel motor to drive housing using
hardware (B - Section 3.3).
12. Place drive belt over motor pulley and adjust belt.
13. Fully raise reels to transport position and install lift
spring screws (A -Section 3.3).
14. Adjust reel to bedknife, and set height of cut for
each cutting unit.[Sections 4.15, 4.16, 4.18 and
4.19]
