GREENSENTRY TROUBLE SHOOTING________________________________________

1.

Power Check

Symptom:  GreenSentry light not lit during lift/lower
cycle and horn does not sound with GreenSentry switch
in OFF/TEST position.

Test and Remedy: Check all connections and
terminals at the instrument panel, relay panel, horn,
battery and hydraulic reservoir. Check battery condition.
Check GreenSentry bulb.

2.

Horn Check

Symptom:  GreenSentry light lit for more than 3
minutes without horn sounding, or horn does not sound
with GreenSentry switch in OFF/TEST position.

Test and Remedy: Unplug wires from flow switch (A).
Turn ignition to RUN. Connect jumper wire across flow
switch connector. GreenSentry light should illuminate.
Wait about three minutes and unplug jumper wire.

If GreenSentry light remains lit after removing jumper
wire and horn does not sound, replace horn.

3.

 Float Switch Check

Symptom: GreenSentry light remains lit, horn sounds,
but no leak is detected.

Test and Remedy: Remove float switch (C). Check
that oil level is full in main tank. Fill tank if necessary.
Reinstall float switch and turn ignition to RUN

If symptom remains, unplug float switch from wire
harness. Turn ignition to RUN and if symptoms stop,
replace float switch.

If problem still exists, remove, disassemble and clean
flow switch (A).

4.

Flow Switch Check

Symptom:  GreenSentry light not lit during lift/lower
cycle. Horn sounds with GreenSentry switch in OFF/
TEST position.

Test and Remedy: Check GreenSentry bulb. Oil level
in tank is low. Flow switch (A) needs cleaning.

Add oil. Clean flow switch. Replace bulb.

5.

Temperature Sender and Timer Check

Note:

Ignition must be in RUN position for all tests.

Symptom:  Horn sounds with GreenSentry switch in
OFF/TEST position, but does not sound when
GreenSentry light lit.

Test and Remedy: Unplug wires from flow switch (A).
Turn ignition to RUN. Connect jumper wire across flow
switch connector and measure time from when
GreenSentry light illuminates until horn sounds. If the oil
temperature is 70°F (21°C), the time span should be
about 35 seconds.

Replace temperature sender (B) if the time span is off
by more than 5 - 10 seconds.

Replace GreenSentry module if horn does not sound.

6.

GreenSentry Leak Detection Check

Symptom:  Horn sounds with GreenSentry switch in
OFF/TEST position, but does not sound when
GreenSentry light lit.

Test and Remedy: Unplug wires from flow switch (A)
and float switch (C). Connect jumper wire across flow
switch connector. GreenSentry light should illuminate.
Connect a jumper wire across flow switch connectors.
Horn should sound instantly and the GreenSentry light
will latch on.

Replace GreenSentry module if above conditions do not
occur.
