10.3 BELT ADJUSTMENT _______________________________________________________
Inspect and adjust a new belt after the first ten hours of operation.
Check the belt every 100 hours after the first 10 hours.
Alternator Belt
Adjust the alternator position so that the belt moves 1/4 to 5/16 inch
(0.6 to 0.8 cm) with a 20 lb. (89 N) push at the center point between
pulleys. Refer to the Engine manual.
If the belt tension is not correct, loosen the alternator mounting bolts
and adjust the alternator until the correct belt tension is set. Tighten
the alternator mounting bolts.
Compressor Belt (Mowers with Cab Only)
Adjust the compressor position so that the belt moves 1/4 to 5/16
inch (0.6 to 0.8 cm) with a 20 lb. (89 N) push at the center point
between pulleys.
If the belt tension is not correct, loosen the compressor mounting
bolts and adjust the compressor until the correct belt tension is set.
Tighten the alternator mounting bolts.
