9.21 CARE AND CLEANING _____________________________________________________
Clean the mower and cutting units after each use. To prevent damage to the engine, do not wash the mower with the
engine in operation. When possible, clean the mower with compressed air.
Use compressed air to clean the engine and the radiator fins. Do not pressure wash engine.
Use clean water to wash your equipment.
Do not spray water at the instrument panel, ignition switch, controller or other electrical components or at bearing
housings and seals.
Clean all plastic or rubber parts with a weak soap solution or use commercially available rubber cleaners.
To keep the original high polish of the fiberglass parts, wax with a good grade of one-step cleaner wax.
Repair damaged metal surfaces and use Jacobsen touch-up paint. Apply wax to the equipment for maximum paint
protection.
NOTICE
Do not wash any part of the mower that is hot. Do not use the high-pressure spray or steam. Use the cold water and
automotive cleaners.
NOTICE
To use salt water or drain water is known to cause rust and corrosion of metal parts and can cause damage or
failure. This damage is not included by the factory warranty.
CAUTION
To prevent fire, clean grass clippings and dirt from the cutting units, drives, engine and exhaust components.
WARNING
Never use your hands to clean cutting units. Use a brush to remove grass clippings from the blades. The blades are
sharp and can cause injuries.
