TRACTION PEDAL SPEED LIMITER __________________________________________
Cutting quality is better at speeds well below the
transport speed of the mower. An initial mow speed of 6
mph is set at the factory and should be satisfactory for
most cutting conditions. Local turf conditions however
may respond better to a different speed.
To adjust mow speed, loosen jam nut (J) and adjust stop
screw up to reduce speed, or down to increase speed.
Tighten nut to hold adjustment in place.

PARKING BRAKE _________________________________________________________
Adjust brakes after replacing or servicing brake assembly, or
if pedal travel becomes excessive.
1.
When installing new brake pads, burnish pads by
driving mower at mowing speed while applying a slight
pressure on brake pedal for about 5 seconds. Release
and repeat five times before making the final
adjustment.
2.
Fully loosen adjusting nut (O).
3.
Disconnect brake return spring at caliper.
4.
By hand, pull cable behind adjusting nut (P) away from
pedal until brake pads just contact brake disk. Thread
adjusting nut (P) up until it contacts the mounting plate.
Tighten nut (O) to lock adjustment in place. Torque nut
(O) to 20 ft lb (27 Nm). Do not over torque or turn
cable.
5.
Connect brake return spring. Repeat for second
cable.
Start mower and check operation of brakes. Park mower
on an incline (approx. 16.7° slope) and engage parking
brake. Brake must prevent mower from rolling. Adjust nut
(P) as required.

BRAKE SWITCH __________________________________________________________
1.
Use a volt/ohm meter to determine when switch
contacts open or close.
2.
Engage parking brake and adjust brake switch (U)
as required to close contacts. Switch contacts
should open when parking brake is disengaged.
3.
Add or remove shims as required to obtain air gap
of
3/32 to 1/8 in (2 to 3 mm) is maintained between
sensing surface of switch and brake arm.
