9.11 CUTTING MODES
1.
The mower may be operated in the fixed mode
or the floating mode.
2.
Fixed mode is generally used for cutting
heights greater than 25 mm and the mower
does not require a front roller unless the terrain
is rough and uneven.
A front roller should then be installed and
raised 6 mm higher than the rear roller and
used for anti-scalp pur-poses only.
3.
Floating mode is generally used for cutting
heights less than 25 mm and a front roller is
required.
Select the front roller to be used. The cutting
height will range from 9 to 54 mm if a 63 mm
solid roller is used or 9 to 57 mm if a 76 mm
grooved roller is used.
4.
To convert the mower from fixed to floating
mode, remove hardware (H) from each side of
the three mower frames.
5
Attach the chain (5) to arm (12) using screw
(6), washers (2) and nut (4).
6
Remove screw from the upper mounting of the
height of cut adjusting bracket and replace with
screw (1) and washers (2) secure with nut (3).
Assemble chain (5) to screw (1) through link
nine and secure using washers (2) and nut (4).
Install a front roller and store hardware (H) for
future con-version to fixed mode.
7.
To convert the mower from floating to fixed
mode, assemble hardware (H) as shown and
remove the front roller or raise the roller.
