WARNING!
The spark plug must be tightened firmly. If not tightened properly, the spark plug may get too hot and dam-
age the engine.

Use a 16×17-mm spline wrench to remove the spark plug.

Check if the sealing washer is in good conditions and install the spark plug by hand to prevent it from getting in transversally.
e.
Once the spark plug in installed, tighten it with a 16×17-mm spline wrench to compress the washer.
f.
Fasten the spark plug cover.
g.
Install the engine upper cover and tighten the 4-mm hex bolt tightly.
RECOMMENDATION When installing a new spark plug, tighten half of a turn after inserting the spark plug to compress the washer.
When reinstalling a used spark plug, tighten 1/8-1/4 of a turn after inserting the spark plug to compress the washer.
h.
Fasten the spark plug cover.
i.
Install the engine upper cover and tighten the 4-mm hex bolt firmly.
CAUTION!
If the engine has been operated recently, the muffler will be very hot. Be very careful not to touch the muffler.
