At the end of the season
(when the MaxiJacuzzi
®
is no longer
going to be used)
, you must empty the filter, the pump and the
pipes that connect the spa-pak to the skimmer line.
To empty the filter, just remove the plug from the drain valve
located at the bottom (
3 - 29
). To empty the pump, you must
first disconnect the pipes. If the pipes that connect the
spa-pak to
the MaxiJacuzzi
®
are external, it should be enough to disconnect
them from the pump and filter. If instead they are underground,
you will need to have placed drain valves at the lowest point,
31, detail L
).
NOTE:
if the spa-pak is installed outdoors in areas where the
temperature may drop below freezing, it is advisable to remove
the filter from the base (after draining out the water) and to place
it somewhere protected from freezing.
The sand in the filter needs to be changed when good water filter-
ing is no longer provided. This is indicated by the need to increase the
frequency of backwashing of the filters. Deterioration of the sand is
mainly attributable to water hardness, but also to certain contaminants
that may cause cementing of the filtering material.
Generally speaking, the sand may need to be changed every two
to four years, if the MaxiJacuzzi
®
is used by the family and with
water hardness of 25 °F.
