It is the responsibility of the installer/owner to ascer-
tain compliance with specific local regulations prior to
installation.
Jacuzzi Europe S.p.A. gives no guarantee in this re-
spect and refuses all responsibility regarding compli-
ance of the installation carried out.
Info
The spa-pak mod. “Performance” represents a substantial in-
crease in the performance of the MaxiJacuzzi
®
. The filtering
group
(composed of a pump and a sand filter)
ensures a
considerable water flow rate, thus ensuring filtering and water
purity which is greater than that provided by a traditional car-
tridge filter.
During installation of the MaxiJacuzzi
®
, the filtering group
must be connected to its plumbing circuit at the skimmer
(
1, detail A and C
).
ATTENTION: complete assembly and connection of the
filtering group to the MaxiJacuzzi
®
, before filling it.
When filling and starting up the MaxiJacuzzi
®
, refer to
the manual specific.
Set-up
(
1a
) The
spa-pak can be located in any position, but the
maximum distance from the MaxiJacuzzi
®
must not be greater
than 4 m, and it must be "under-shot" (the pump must be be-
low the minimum fill level of the
MaxiJacuzzi
®
).
NOTE:
If necessary, the spa-pak can be installed on a low-
ered surface (with respect to the MaxiJacuzzi
®
) with a maxi-
mum height difference of 1m. Greater height differences may
reduce the flow rate of the filtering pump which, in normal
conditions, is about 6 m
3
/h.
(
1, detail A
)
You will need to drill a hole in the support
base to allow to run the pipes through
(not included, internal
ø 50 mm, in spiralled PVC)
which will be connected to the
skimmer on one side and to the spa-pak on the other.
NOTE:
it is advisable to provide gate valves
(v)
, so that any main-
tenance required on the filtering group can be done more easily.
(
1, detail B and M
) Provide a cable for electrical supply to
the pump of the spa-pak, keeping in mind that the cable must run
without interruptions up to the electrical box in the MaxiJacuzzi
®
.
This cable must be approved (double insulation, type
H 05 VV-F, or greater) with a cross section of 3 x 1,5
mm
2
(to ensure the watertight seal of the cable ).
NOTE:
the entry point of the pipes shown in the figure is only a
suggestion, It can be made wherever it is most convenient,
based on the position of the skimmer
(
1, detail C
),
the type
of installation and the plumbing and electrical connections to be
made for the MaxiJacuzzi
®
.
(
1, detail D
) Also provide connection from the filter to the
drain. Refer to the pre-installation card of the MaxiJacuzzi
®
con-
cerning the standards and the warnings on the drainage of chemi-
cally treated water.
(
1, detail K
) The spa-pak must be installed so that it is
cannot be accessed by individuals without using keys, and pro-
tected from water and inclement weather. Also make sure that the
place of installation is dry and suitably ventilated.
(
1, detail L
) If the pipes that connect the MaxiJacuzzi
®
to
the spa-pak are underground, provide drain valves at the lowest
points, to allow complete emptying of the pipes.
Assembly of the filtering group (spa-pak)
(
2
) Attach the pump to the support base as shown.
(
3
) Disassemble the drain valve and mount it on the filter
container, as shown.
(
4
) Press the plastic tube into the indicated support. Then,
from inside the container, insert the filtering elements into the sup-
port (
5
) and position the pipe on the bottom of the container.
(
6
) Then place the container in the housing on the support
base. Make sure the drainage valve is located outside the support
base.
(
6a
) Add water until it reaches the indicated line.
This will
provide a certain amount of stability to the pipe when the sand
is added.
(
7
) Cover the opening of the pipe with the flange
(included)
and pour into the container about 30 kg of quartz sand
(diameter of
grains 0.4 - 0.8 mm, not included)
, up to the upper line (detail 2a).
Pour the sand in slowly, distributing it evenly around the pipe.
Make sure that the pipe does not come out of its housing.
When you have finished, remove the flange and keep it for the
next time you need to replace the sand. Clean any residues from
the edge of the container.
(
8
) Take the provided gauge and put the Teflon tape
(pro-
vided)
on the threaded shaft. Then screw the gauge onto the
selector valve, in the position indicated.
(
9
) Place the o-ring in the housing under the selector valve.
Then insert the pipe and fasten it to the container using the two
semi-flanges, as indicated.
(
10
) Place the o-ring on the threaded fitting
(provided)
and
screw it onto the pump, as indicated.
(
11
) Place the o-ring on the other identical threaded fitting
and screw it onto the selector valve, as indicated, that is, at the
"PUMP" position.
(
12, 13, 14
) Connect the selector valve to the pump using
the hose and clamps, as indicated.
