Elementary rules for diving – Diving with the Master

Compressor Diving Pro Geographic watch:
Please note the following points:
-  The activity of diving is under your own responsibility, and

must be performed in accordance with the elementary
rules of diving. There are certain risks inherent in this
activity, such as accidents or unforeseen physiological
reactions. You need to be a holder of a diving certificate,
or make the dive as part of diving training dispensed by
specialised professionals, and be fully equipped for this
activity to ensure your own safety. Sports diving in special
environments, known as “technical diving”, requires special
techniques and equipment (gas mixtures, recyclers, etc.)
and a formal safety approach, which can only be provided
by diving professionals.

-  Never dive alone; your watch is under no circumstances a

substitute for a diving professional.

-  Always dive with at least two depth gauges (instruments

measuring depth), including one professional diving
computer with electronic depth gauge. Diving computers
indicate multiple parameters such as the body’s nitrogen
level, calculate decompression stops or measure water
temperature, etc. They will always be the most suitable
technology for providing accurate multi-purpose tools for
diving. It is utterly inadvisable to use the Master Compressor
Diving Pro Geographic watch in the absence of a diving
computer as a primary tool. Furthermore, any use of a
mechanical depth gauge requires perfect knowledge of
the laws governing the use of diving tables, as the safety
rules applicable for these are the same as for diving with a
computer.

-  Any opening or technical service manipulation of the

Master Compressor Diving Pro Geographic watch case
must be subjected to a check by an authorised Jaeger-
LeCoultre retailer. Furthermore, before any period of
intense use, your watch must undergo a check-up by an
authorised Jaeger-LeCoultre retailer.

Maximum depth and water resistance

The Master Compressor Diving Pro Geographic watch is
water resistant to 30 atm.
The depth gauge on the Master Compressor Diving Pro
Geographic watch indicates depths from 0 to 80 metres.
Please note that taking the watch down below 80 metres
does not pose any danger to the depth gauge mechanism. In
this case, its hand stops just after the ‘80’ mark on the scale.
The mechanism has a stop that halts the indicator in this
position. Once the watch returns to a depth of 80 metres,
the indicator hand will start moving again, according to the
depth measured, up to zero metres.

Time functions

By virtue of a mechanical coupling with the international GMT
system 24 time-zone disc, the Master Compressor Diving
Pro Geographic watch has a double time display, which, by
a simple adjustment on the sub-dial at 9 o’clock, can indicate
the hour in one of the world’s 24 time zones, selected on the
24-city disc.
So this watch has a mechanical display featuring:
-  the “local” hour, minute, and date (for your place of

residence).

-  the city selected for the second time zone.
-  the hour in the second time zone selected, with a 24-hour

indicator.

The Master Compressor Diving Pro Geographic watch is
mechanically programmed according to the international
system governed by Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
Under this system, the world is divided into 24 time zones,
each 15 degrees longitude in width (see map opposite). In
each of these time zones, the official time is the same; the
official time varies by one hour when you pass between time
zones.
