Starting from the Greenwich meridian, time-zone centre 0,
12 zones have been defined ranging from +1 to +12 hours
in the eastward direction and 12 zones ranging from 0 to
-11 hours in the westward direction.
Jaeger-LeCoultre has personalized each of these time zones
with the name of a city, which is displayed in the window
located at 6 o’clock on the dial of your watch.
So as not to compromise the overall legibility, the city disc
does not show the few regions in which the official time
differs by a fraction of an hour (e.g.: India, Iran, Nepal).

Starting the watch

Crown A
Turn the compression key to the “open” position in the
direction of the arrow. Crown A will then be in position 1.
A few clockwise turns of the crown will suffice to start the
watch. The small black disc with a luminous bar through it, in
the 5 o’clock position, will then start moving. This function,
which completes one revolution in 60 seconds, acts as an
operating indicator, demonstrating that the watch is running.
The watch will then automatically wind up when you wear
it.  Please note that the crown does not lock on winding, even
when the watch is fully wound.
Once the operation is complete, turn the compression key to
the “closed” position in the direction of the arrows.

Order of settings

The settings on your watch must be made in the order
indicated below, as per the following instructions:
1)  Setting the time-zone hour and minute hands
2)  Setting the date and local hour hand

Setting the second time-zone hour and minute

hands

This first setting consists of adjusting the city disc, and the
second time-zone hour and minute hands to supply the
mechanism with the reference parameters.

1

st

operation:

setting the city disc (select local city).

Crown B
Turn the compression key to the “open” position in the
direction of the arrow.
Pull crown B out to position 2.
Turn the crown clockwise or anti-clockwise, so that the
window at 6 o’clock opposite the triangular marker displays
the city corresponding to the time zone that you are in (your
local city).
Once the operation is complete, push the crown back into
position 1 and turn the compression key to the “closed”
position in the direction of the arrows.

2

nd

operation:

setting the second time-zone hour hand (dial at

9 o’clock) and local time minute hand.
Crown A
Turn the compression key to the “open” position in the
direction of the arrow.
Pull crown A out to position 3.
The movement will then be locked (the operating indicator
will stop).
Turn the crown clockwise. Note: the local hour hand and
date are automatically driven by this operation, but their final
settings will be made independently, as per the instructions
for the next stage.
As you turn the crown, keep an eye on both the second
time-zone hour hand (in the sub-dial at 9 o’clock) and the
main minute hand.
Move the hour hand in the sub-dial forward to obtain the
local time, observing the 24-hour display system, opposite
the small triangle in the 9 o’clock position. Keep turning the
crown to move the main minute hand to the desired local
time position.
Once the operation is complete, push the crown back into
position 1 and turn the compression key to the “closed”
position in the direction of the arrows. The watch will then
start running again.

Note: summer time (Daylight Saving Time or DST) / winter time.

Perform the two operations above to correct the second
time zone for the summer time and winter time changeovers.
The configuration of the city disc corresponds to a relative
time-zone position in winter time (legal time). For a correct
second time-zone reading during summer time, you need to
consider the geographic location of the country in question,
i.e. whether it is in the northern or southern hemisphere.
