ADJUSTING THE SECOND TIME ZONE
In the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) sys-
tem used practically throughout the wor-
ld, the earth is divided into 24 time zones,
each corresponding to 15 degrees’ longi-
tude (see table below).
In each of these time zones, the official time
is the same and it changes by one hour
when moving from one zone to the next.
Setting out from the Greenwich meri-
dian, the central or 0 point of time zones,
12 zones have been defined from +1 to
+12 hours moving eastward, and 12 others
from 0 to -11 hours moving westward.
