Preparation: lacquer body and neck (optional)
Both the body and the neck are sanded ready to be painted at the factory, so that
oil- or wax-based stains as well as spray paint can be easily absorbed. As wood is a
natural material which expands or contracts under different temperature and
humidity conditions, it is recommended to seal the back of the body and neck with
a finish. All holes and routings for attachments and electronics, the neck pocket as
well as the fretboard and frets should be taped well beforehand with adhesive tape,
as an additional layer of varnish may prevent them from fitting properly.
