both sides of the finished hem. The top side

Position the fabric, so that the needle at its
leftmost position just pierces the edge of the
fold.

Turn the guide screw to adjust the guide
aligning with the folded edge.
Sew along the folded edge guiding the fabric
so the needle catches the folded edge.

Use a lightweight fabric (tricot, for example).
Fold and stitch on the bias.
When the needle swings to the right, allow the
needle to just clear the folded edge of the fabric.
After stitching, open the fabric and iron press the
tucks flat to one side.
NOTE:
Increase the needle thread tension to form
prominent tucks.
