INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALLATION
Follow these instructions to install the soaking bath vessel,
overflows, fill spouts, and faucetry. Electrical connection is
not needed.
see the user MaINTeNaNCe INsTruCTIONs on page 4 for humidity
and mold prevention suggestions prior to Installation.
1.
Finish Frame
a.
Construct a finish frame under the bath rim
to support the
bath lip and keep the bath deck level, which will assist
any water draining from the deck of the bath into the
well of the bath. This frame is not intended to support
the full bath weight.
If a
lateral skirt is to be used on the bath, the bath deck must
be leveled at the correct clearance from the support foundation
(flooring) depending on the model, or the skirt will not fit
properly.
apply 100% silicone
with water resistant properties
between the water resistant backer board and the deck
of the bath.
see Figure 1.
NOTe:
Soaking bath vessels without an integral tile
flange or tile flange kit (TFK) are not to be installed
against the wall.
NOTe:
If you have purchased a model with an integral
skirt and tile flange; factory installed lateral skirt; integral
tile flange; or an optional tile flange kit, modify the
framing to support the bath lip as shown in
Figure 2.
2.
Rough-in the plumbing for the drain and overflow assembly.
At
this time also plan for the position and mounting of the
faucet set as well as all related plumbing. All overflow
drains, fill spouts, and valves must be installed according
to the instructions in this manual.
3.
level the bath and remove packing board:
a.
Install the bath level for proper drainage.
Jason baths are
designed to be supported under the entire base of the
bath. If the floor is smooth and level, the bath’s Level-
Form™ base will provide proper drainage and support
(see
Figure 2
). Mortar is required when the subfloor is
not smooth and level; when additional sound insulation
is desired; and/or when the bath is installed in a drop-in
application. In alcove installations a bed of mortar is
recommended to aid in leveling the bath.
NOTe:
Do
not use sand to install or level the bath.
b.
remove the packing board before installing the bath
. Some
soaking bath models may be shipped with a packing
board which must be removed before installation.
Detach the packing board from the bath.
4.
Protect the acrylic bath surface from damage during installation
with a suitable material,
i.e.
,
cardboard and/or plastic film.
5.
Install the drain
and overflow
assembly
onto the bath according
to the instructions provided with the assemblies. Position
the bath in the area of intended installation.
