29.2 Checking Level in Hydraulic Oil Reservoir (A100 Models)
Each hydraulic system is equipped with an oil reservoir and filler cap (breather fitting is mounted
to the top center of the reservoir, under the drum) mounted between the under frame rails. The
oil level must be
checked daily
when the oil is cool and machine is level. Add oil through the cap
as required to maintain the oil level near the top of the glass level sight (see

2. Glass Level Sight
– Oil level should always be visible through the sight.

Important: If it is necessary to add oil frequently to maintain the required oil level, there is a leak
in the system. Determine the source of the leak and correct before continuing to
operate the machine. Contact your Jaylor Dealer or Distributor should you require
assistance.
29.3 Replacing Hydraulic Oil and Hydraulic Oil Filter(s) (All Models except Skid Steer)
The hydraulic oil must be replaced
YEARLY
(or sooner if the oil quality has degraded). At this
time, the hydraulic oil filter(s) should also be changed. To complete this procedure, follow these
steps:
a. Locate the drain plug as shown in
Place a large oil pan or pail beneath the drain plug. Remember, the reservoir holds
approximately
8.5 US gallons (32 liters)
for A50 models and
14 US gallons (53 liters)
for
A100 models so a container of sufficient size should be used. Remove the drain plug and
begin draining the reservoir oil.
b. Once the oil stops draining from the port, reinstall the drain plug.
c. Dispose of the used oil in an environmentally safe manner.
d. Clean and remove the breather/filter cap as outlined in section ‘
Breather/Filter Assembly (A50 Models)
’ (A50 models only).
