Section 8: Plumbing System
122
Fresh Water Connection Inlet
The fresh water connection should be unplugged (i.e., the non-toxic drinking water
hose disconnected) when the recreation vehicle is unattended for any amount of time.
If something would happen to the water system, this may help limit water damage to a
smaller area.
1.
Water heater bypass valves should be set to
NORMAL
(refer to the
2-Valve Water
Heater Bypass
section). Make sure the water heater drain plug is in place on the water
heater. Bypass valve handles should point toward the water heater.
2.
Set the blue CITY WATER / TANK FILL valve (on utility center) to the
CITY WA-
TER
(vertical) position (pointing down).
3.
Make sure both water valves at the water pump are in the
NORMAL
positions (see
water valve configurations).
4.
Attach a fresh water hose to the fresh water connection inlet on the panel. Attach the
other end of the hose to a pressurized fresh water source.
5.
Turn on the pressurized water to supply fresh water at all fixtures inside the recreation
vehicle. The 12V pump is not used for this feature.
6.
Open the cold water supply faucets to bleed air from the water lines. When the water
lines are nearly full, you may experience some "air pockets". Allow these to escape
before closing the cold water supply faucets.
7.
The water heater will fill first, followed by the supply lines and faucets. Open the hot
water faucets until air is bled off and the water is a steady stream. Close faucet.
8.
Turn the appropriate (12-volt gas or 120-volt electric) water heater control switch ON.
The water heater must be full of water before turning it ON.
9.
To verify water heater is full, open hot water faucets, turn pump ON, and when water
comes out in a steady stream the water heater should be full. Shut off faucets and the
pump.
To disconnect,
shut OFF the water at the external water source. Disconnect the hose from
the water source first, then disconnect from the utility center panel.
Water Valve Configurations
NORMAL (CITY WATER):
This setting will supply
fresh water to all fixtures in the RV from a pressurized
water source attached to the utility center panel.
1.
Utility center valve should be set to
CITY WA-
TER
position (pointing down).
2.
White valve should be pointing toward the pump
as shown.
3.
Black valve should be pointing toward the pump
strainer as shown.
The pump is
not
used to supply water to fixtures when a pressurized water source is attached
to the utility center city water inlet.
NOTE:
If needed sanitize the water system prior to travel.
