6.
Put the sanitizer solution in the fresh water tank. Place the end of the clear plastic tub-
ing (found inside the basement access panel or at the water pump) into a container of
chlorine solution.
7.
Turn the black valve (at the pump) so it is pointing to the clear siphon hose. Turn the
white valve (at the pump) so it is pointing to the left toward the water tank line (as
shown in
Sanitize Tank & Country Fill
photo above).
8.
Turn the water pump ON, and sanitizing solution is siphoned into the fresh water tank.
Tank drain valve must be closed to create a siphon.
9.
Once the sanitizer is in the tank, finish filling it with fresh water. The tank may be filled
in one of two ways. It can be pressure filled using an external pressurized water source,
or it can be siphon filled using the clear plastic hose and a container of fresh water.
(The valves in the following two examples are located at the water pump)
To Siphon Fill:
Set the BLACK valve so it points to the clear hose. White valve points
left to the water tank. Put the clear hose in a container of fresh water and turn on the
pump. Check tank level by watching monitor panel LEDs inside the RV.
To Pressure Fill:
Turn the BLACK valve so it points to the pump strainer. Turn the
WHITE valve so it points left toward the water tank. Attach a pressurized water source
to the city water inlet on the utility center panel. Turn the blue CITY WATER/TANK
FILL lever on the utility center panel to the
FILL TANK
position (horizontal). Turn
on the water source and the tank will fill. Refer to the
Pressure Fill Tank
photo above.
Turn OFF the water source and remove the hose from the water source, then remove
the hose from the utility panel. Check the tank level by watching monitor panel LEDs
inside the RV.
10. When the tank is full, the two valves at the water pump must be set to the
NORMAL
position. Turn OFF water heater power (both gas and electric switches). Turn the
pump ON and sanitized water from the water tank will circulate through the water
lines in the RV (when a fixture is opened). The water heater valves should be set to
BYPASS
mode.
11.
Open all hot water faucets one by one until water begins to flow continuously and a
chlorine smell is noticeable. Include outside shower faucets (if so equipped). Also
include outside kitchen faucet also if equipped.
12. Close the hot water faucets and repeat opening all cold water faucets one by one until
you smell chlorine. Include outside shower faucets (if so equipped). Also include
outside kitchen faucet also if equipped.
13. Turn the water pump OFF.
14. Let the solution remain in the tank and lines for at least four hours when disinfecting
with 50-PPM residual chlorine. If a shorter time period is desired, then a 100-PPM
chlorine concentration should be permitted to sit in the system for at least one hour.
15. After sanitizing, drain the chlorine solution from the fresh water system. See
Draining
the Fresh Water System.
NOTE:
To thoroughly sanitize the fresh water tank, the unit should
be driven around for a short while allowing the solution to splash the
sides and top of the tank.
