11 - COMBINATION ARRAYS WITH A8 AND B18
The VTX A8 cabinets are mechanically and acoustically compatible with the VTX B18 single-18” subwoofers. All A8 suspension acces-
sories are compatible with the VTX B18 and combination arrays can be create with VTX A8s suspended under B18 subwoofers.
This section of the manual covers everything needed to create a VTX A8/B18 combination array. For more detailed information
on the B18 rigging system and instructions on how to create other standalone B18 suspended arrays, refer the VTX B18 Rigging
Manual.
11.1 - ATTACHING THE ARRAY FRAME TO THE B18
The first step in this process is to attach the VTX A8 Array Frame to the top most VTX B18 cabinet. The array design used for this exam-
ple, consists of two forward facing B18 subwoofers, and eight A8 cabinets under that. Below are the required steps to attach the array
frame to the first B18.
STEPS:
• To make it easier to attach, separate the Array Frame from the Extension Bar.
• Extend the four B18 rigging arms that will connect to the array frame by temporarily removing the QRPs, This will allow the
spring loaded mechanism to extend the arms outside the B18. Restore the QRPs back to the same position.
• Lower the array frame onto the B18 and use the four QRPs on the frame to secure the frame onto the B18.
• Once the Array Frame is secured to the top of the cabinet, the Extension Bar can be attached.
