6.0 Using the Microscope
6.1 Turn the observation head to a comfortable
position for observation
6.2 Ensure that the specimen is centred over the stage opening. Lock the
specimen slide on the mechanical stage using the two slide clamp
6.3 Insert the plug of the cable into the power socket on the back of the
microscope to charge it and turn the switch to the charge mode (on the right
side of the main body).
6.4 Rotate the coarse focusing knob to bring the slide into focus with the 4X
objective. Adjust the fine focusing knob to get the image sharp and clear.
6.5 Adjust the aperture of the iris diaphragm to set the numerical aperture of
the illuminator, thus controlling image contrast and resolution.
6.6 Turn the nosepiece to choose the objective you need.
Caution:
The maximum light intensity when using the 4x and 10x
can damage the eyes!
Caution:
It is recommended to use slides of 1.0 – 1.2 mm thickness in
combination with cover glasses of 0.13 mm or 0.17 mm
thickness.
