Note: The lifting shackle must be removed when
excavating to prevent the possibility of damage.

Attach lifting chains to the shackle. Keep the chain
length as short as possible, to prevent swinging.
Important: Always use lifting tackle which is strong
enough and in good condition. Check the load weight
before choosing the lifting chains.

Attach a handline to the load. Make sure the person
holding the handline stands clear of the load and
machine.

Test the load by lifting it 25-50 mm (one or two inches)
and slowly manoeuvring it across the ground with the
excavator controls. Lower the load to the ground if
you feel any instability of the load or the machine.

When you are using the dipper movement to lift, always lift
by moving the dipper away from you, as shown, not
towards you. This is because hose burst protection valves
(if fitted) are provided only on the ‘dipper-in’ side,
