3 Testing Copper Cables
3.1 Connecting to Cabling for Certification
This chapter describes the process of performing a cable
certification using a Certifier40G.
3.2 Entering the Site Information
Before starting a new certification job at a site, you can
configure your Certifier40G with the Site information by
creating a new site. The site information is useful in
organizing the tests that are done under the site name you
create. The same site hierarchy is then displayed when
exporting the results into the PC software (Reporter).
3.3 Choose the Labeling Format
Certifier40G supports multiple types of labeling for your
saved results enabling you to smartly organize and
document your job. You can configure the device to choose
different labeling schemes. There are also simple labels
when you are performing a very small job or don’t want to
use standard labeling practices as specified in TIA 606A
standards or use the hierarchical labeling structures.
