5.1.2 Getting back onboard
The means for getting back onboard must be able to be deployed by one person alone in the
water, with no other help.
Fitting a means of climbing back onboard:
- Some types of equipment for getting back onboard have a locking device
when folded up: It is advisable to have the means for getting back on board
permanently deployed when the boat is in use (at anchor, moored or at sea).
- Make sure that the means for getting back onboard are readily accessible
and easy to use by someone alone in the water.
