[10] inputs/outputs
All outputs are monitored for wire breaks, therefore the operating voltage is present on open
outputs via a high-impedance resistor. The functions of the outputs can only be checked when
they are under load.
ext.Stop
The external stop input can be programmed as NC, NO or without query.
various
The various input can be programmed as NC, NO or without query.
autostart
The autostart input can be programmed as NC, NO or without query.
alarm
The alarm output can be permanently programmed as an interval or without
function.
oil
The input for monitoring engine oil pressure can be programmed as a sensor,
NC, NO or without query.
It is not possible to connect the oil pressure sensor and the oil pressure
switch!
temp
The input for monitoring engine temperature can be programmed as a sensor,
NC, NO or without query.
It is not possible to connect the temperature sensor and the temperature
switch! When a temperature switch is connected, no temperature-
dependent preheat possible.
D+
Monitoring of the alternator via the D+ signal can be programmed as an NC,
NO or without query.
rope start
The HMCflex offers the option of monitoring an engine with cable pull start-up.
The modified start-up conditions when the engine is started by pulling a cable
rather than with an ignition switch are automatically taken into consideration
by the HMCflex.
5 Definition of the concepts of speed and pulse per revolution
The speed of an engine is the number of crankshaft revolutions per minute.
With diesel engines, the speed can be taken from the alternator terminal "W", when present. This may
involve some imprecision due to slippage of the fan-belt. However, in contrast, a pickup gives absolute
values (adhere to the manufacturer's installation instructions).
In both cases, this involves frequency (pulses per second). The frequency of these pulses is propor-
tional to the speed of the engine.
