Operation

Remove the stylus protector.
-
Untie the cable holding the tone arm in place, and make
sure it’s removed from the tone arm rest before
operating the unit.
1. Raise the JTA-470 DUST COVER (#1)
2. Set the TURNTABLE SPEED SELECTOR (#9) to the proper position for the record
you are playing.
3. Set the RECORD SIZE SELECTOR (#11) to select the record size you are playing.
“17” cm for 45 RPM or “30” cm for 33-1/3 RPM.
4. Place the record on the platter [use the 45 RPM ADAPTER (#6) if necessary].
5. You can manually raise the tone arm and place the needle on the record, or press the
PLAY BUTTON (#5) to start to automatic playback of the first track on the record.
6. If you manually place the needle on the record, or need to raise the tone arm
manually, you can use the CUE BUTTON (#3). Press the CUE BUTTON (#3) (UP
position) to automatically raise the tone arm up off the record, or up and out of the
tone arm rest.
7. Lift the tone arm from the rest and slowly move it towards the record. The platter will
start to rotate. Position the tone arm over the desired track on the record.
8. Press the CUE BUTTON (#3) (DN position) again, and the tone arm will go down
slowly on the record and start playing the selected track.
9. At the end of record, the tone arm will return to the rest position automatically.
10. To stop the record manually, lift the tone arm from the record and return it to the rest.
Play suspension
Press the CUE BUTTON (#3) so it’s in the UP position. The tone arm will lift up and then
stop playback temporarily.
Play ejection
Press the EJECT BUTTON (#4) anytime during playback, the tone arm will return to the
rest position immediately.
Remark :
- The tone arm may automatically return to the rest the first time you use the unit. This is
not a malfunction. The unit will reset and operate properly the next time used.
- This unit is not compatible with magnetic cartridges. If you change the cartridge and
stylus to a magnetic type, you will no longer be able to use this system via the Aux-in
on your music system.
- Certain records may have the end of the record located before the auto return detection
area. The tone arm may not automatically return to the rest. Press the EJECT
BUTTON (#4), the tone arm will return to the rest.
