6.1 Water cooling
The coolant container on the
SynMag 3600/4100/5100
is factory filled with approximately 1 litre of
coolant. The container must be topped up with coolant via the filler neck. The tank capacity is approximately
five litres. The fill level of the coolant container can be checked using the window on the right-hand
side panel.
6.2 Preparing the wire feeder
1
Place the welding wire spool on the spool holder with the drive pin in the spool hole. Secure the welding
wire spool!
2
Check that the wire feed rolls are suitable for the wire diameter and material.
6.3 Preparing for welding
1
Switch on the machine at the main switch.
2
Use the table to select the welding programme.
3
Preselect the voltage levels. Depending on the selection, the corresponding set value is indicated
on the displays.
4
Select 2-step or 4-step mode.
5
Press the thread button and thread the welding wire through the cable assembly.
6
If the factory-set contact pressure for the wire drive needs to be adjusted, this can be done using the
two clamp levers.
7
Set the shielding gas volume.
8
Weld.
9
Use the knob to adjust the wire feed speed to the welding task.
WARNING
ONLY use JPP coolant (order no. 900.020.400).
• Unsuitable coolant can cause material damage and void the manufacturer warranty. Do not mix in
any water or other coolant.
• Do not weld without coolant! The tank must always be full.
• The pump must not run dry, even for a short period. Bleed the pump.
• Frost-proof down to −30°C
