Speed Pot
The control for setting the speed of chases on the Jester. This is located on the right
hand side of the front panel.
Store
The function of the PROGRAM/GO button when the desk is in
Wide
preset mode.
The button is coloured YELLOW and toggles between A FADERS B STORED and B
FADERS A STORED.
Super User
The area of the Jester where settings can be altered. This is accessed via
SHIFT+MODE.
Terminator
A 120
Ω
½ Watt resistor soldered between pins 2+3 of a male XLR, which provides
protection against signal ‘bounce’. This should be placed at the end of a DMX signal
chain.
Time
The JesterJester allows you to define fade up and fade down times for a memory,
which define how quickly the memory will run.
Topset
The ability to set a ‘top’ level for a channel. This is generally set on the dimmer itself.
The Jester does not allow you to set a top level for a channel.
USB
Universal Serial Bus. A standard for the transfer and storage of information. The
Jester has a USB port mounted on the front panel to allow storage of show files.
VGA
Video Graphics Array. The monitor output on the back of the Jester is VGA – see
Displays Setup in Super User for further details.
Wide
Wide mode is when the Jester enables all of its faders for use as channel faders. In
this mode, Preset B becomes control of the second half of the channels.

X-fade
Another name for
Crossfade
. A smooth fade from one scene to another, with pre-
defined up and down fade times.
XLR
The connector range used for the DMX input, DMX output and Power connectors on
the back of the Jester. There are various different XLR connectors available,
