Torque Screwdriver Operating Instructions

1.

Study this booklet carefully before attempting to operate this screwdriver.

2.

Never apply more torque than the maximum scale reading.

3.

This torque screwdriver is designed for manual tightening of threaded fasteners only.
Do not use as a nut-breaker or for any other purpose.

4.

Over-torqued or defective fasteners or screwdriver may suddenly break. Ratchets that are improperly
engaged, worn out, damaged or over-torqued may slip or break. To prevent injury, keep proper
footing and balance at all times. Do not use the screwdriver in places from which you may fall or slip,
or around rotating machinery.

5.

This screwdriver will not prevent you from applying more torque than set; it is not a force-limiting tool.
Learn how different amounts of torque “feel”, so you will reduce the possibility of damage and/or
injury due to accidental over-torquing.

6.

There are no user-serviceable components inside the screwdriver. Disassembling the screwdriver or
making any adjustments will result in a loss of accuracy and will void the warranty.

How To Use Your Torque Screwdriver

A.  Hold screwdriver in your left hand and pull down the Locking Ring to unlock handle (see fig. 1a)

B.  While holding Locking Ring down, turn it until red line on scale reaches required value

C.  Allow Locking Ring to return to Lock position, ensuring it is properly seated

WARNINGS:

1.  Do not pull after the screwdriver clicks. Use special care at low torque settings.
2.   If the screwdriver has not been used for some time, operate it several times at

maximum high torque to allow internal lubricant to recoat.

3.  When not in use, keep lowest torque setting.
4.  Do not turn handle below lowest torque setting.
5.  Your torque screwdriver is a precision measuring instrument and should be treated as such.
6.   Clean only by wiping. Do not use any type of cleaner which may affect the special internal lubricant

with which this screwdriver is packed at the factory.
