E. To Turn the Fire and Pilot Off

Remove the air inlet grill.

Turn the fire off as described in No.
3 Depress the control knob.

Turn to the OFF POSITION and the
pilot will go out.

Replace the air inlet grill.
Safety Feature:
If the pilot is turned
off you will not be able to re-ignite the pilot
for a minimum of 30 seconds.

NOTE: Due to the ceramic fibre material
used in the fuel bed it is inevitable that
cleaning/replacement can be a dirty and
dusty operation. Suitable precautions should
be taken. Due to the intense temperatures
reached in the fire some surface cracks may
appear on the ceramic components. This is
quite normal and will not affect the safe
operation of the appliance.
1 Turn off the fire and allow it to go
cold.

Carefully
remove all the coals one
at a time by hand and remove any soot
deposits with a soft brush.
3 Remove any debris etc., from the back
board. A vacuum cleaner may be used
with care.
4 Carefully reposition or renew the
coals as described in “Positioning the
coals”.
5 Do not add any additional logs or
coals.
