Charge Pump
Removal
1. Park the trailer on a hard, level surface and
chock the wheels. For skid mounted units,
lift the unit onto a hard, level surface and
install cribbing under the unit for access to
the charge pump.
2. Drain the water from the water tank.
3.
Remove the five mounting nuts (
142) that secure the belt guard to the unit
and lift the guard from the unit.
4. If a hoist is available, attach a hoist and
appropriate lifting apparatus to the belt
guard. Lift the belt guard from the unit.
The weight of the belt guard is approxi-
mately 70 lb (32 kg). If a hoist is not avail-
able, use two people to carefully lift the
guard from the unit.
5. Remove the charge pump drive belt
(Figure 143) by releasing the belt tension
using the spring loaded tensioner.
6. Remove the drive sheave by removing
the bushing screws and reinstalling
them in the threaded holes in the bush-
ing. Tighten the screws to separate the
tapered bushing from the sheave. Loosen
the set screw in the bushing and remove
the bushing.
7. Remove the output hose (Figure 144) and
the supply hose from the charge pump.
8. Remove the two capscrews (Figure 144),
nuts and washers that secure the charge
pump to the mounting bracket. Remove the
charge pump.
Installation
1. Place the charge pump into position on
the mounting bracket. Install the two
capscrews (Figure 144), nuts and wash-
ers that secure the charge pump to the
bracket. Tighten the capscrews to 9 ft. lb
(12 N·m).
2. Place the sheave bushing in place and
install the set screw. Install the sheave onto
the bushing. Check for proper belt align-
ment (Figure 143).
3. Connect the supply hose and outlet hose
to the charge pump.
