Hub-Shaft Disassembly
NOTE:
Refer to Figure 3-52.
1.
Using retaining ring pliers remove Retaining Ring (1I)
from groove in Output Shaft (1A) and discard.
EYE PROTECTION SHOULD BE WORN DURING THIS PROCEDURE.
2.
Remove Thrust Washer (1H).
3.
While supporting the Housing (1G) on the Output Shaft
(1A) end, press the Output Shaft (1A) out of the Housing
(1G).
NOTE:
The Lip Seal (1B) will be pressed out of the Housing (1G) by
the Bearing Cone (1D) during this step.
4.
Remove the Bearing Cone (1E) from the Housing (1G).
5.
Use a bearing puller to remove the Bearing Cone (1D)
from the Shaft (1A).
6.
Bearing Cups (1C & 1F) will remain in Housing (1G).
