3.19 Drive Motors
Both wheels gear motor assemblies are mounted
individually, on the chassis, at the rear of the machine.
Each assembly is composed of an asynchronous
electric motor 15 V AC coupled to a reducer. It also
includes a parking brake fitted at the end of the gear
motor assembly.
The brake is an electronic brake with lack of current;
the braking torque occurs power off.
The parts composing the right and left assemblies
are identical.

Brake Electric Charactéristics:
Coil: nominal voltage = 24 V DC
Coil: power at 20°C = 22 W
Coil: resistance at 20°C = 26

Brake Cleaning:
It is possible that a dust accumulation, due to the
normal wear of the brake disc appears inside the
brake. For that reason, it is recommended to remove
the dust twice a year, using clean and oil-free
compressed air.
1 - Disconnect the battery using the fast plug.
2 - Remove the cover of the machine.
3 - Blow dust accumulated around the brake air
gap, aroung the entire periphery.
4 - Reinstall the rear cover.
3.20 Electrical Cylinder
The electrical cylinder enables the turning of the work
platform’s steering wheels.
It consists of an electrical motor, a reducer, a nut and
worm mechanism and of a potentiometer.
The potentiometer is linked to both electronic
controllers (see § 3.18) and limits the speed of the
inner motor when the wheels are steered.
- Steering potentiometers: operation condition
Do not let the rod turn unloaded during
removal as the potentiometer's calibration
would no longer be valid. Install the steering
cylinder with the wheels of the machine in
the same position as during removal. When
replacing a cylinder (installation of a new
cylinder), the wheels of the machine must
be positioned in such a way that the cylinder
rod should not be touched (wheels fully
steered to the right).
The electrical motor is fitted with a thermal protection
that cuts the cylinder supply automatically in case of
overheating.
In case the electrical cylinder overheats:
1- Depress one of the EMERGENCY STOP
switches to cut the electrical power off.
2- Eliminate the problem that caused the
overheating
3- Let the cylinder cool down.
4- Pull on the EMERGENCY STOP switch to
reset it.
Before resuming operations, it is necessary
to solve the problem that required the
emergency stop.
