Where errors exist in a playlist, the
BlackBox Player will alert you to the fact
with a screen like this. This example shows
that on the 23
rd
line in the playlist file there
is an error. This could be a missing song; or
the playlist file is instructing the BlackBox
Player to look for the Song in the wrong
Folder; or there may be errors in the tags surrounding one of the playlist
commands at that line number.
When you press the BACK button, the View
Playlist screen will show you where there
are any missing songs by displaying them in
red text.
Remember that songs may be in a different
folder, in which case a folder change command is required before and after
the missing file.
Preloading Songs
The core facility of the BlackBox Player is its ability to preload the next Song
in the playlist so that it can start replay instantaneously. When the playlist
file has satisfied all of the criteria detailed above and all the audio files have
been found, the BlackBox Player is ready to go. The current status of the
Player is normally indicated by the screen colour and the messages that are
being displayed thereon.
Loading
When the BlackBox Player is loading audio
files in readiness for playing back, this
screen is shown. The background colour of
the screen is pale green to make it easy to
determine the current status of the
BlackBox Player from a distance. The
Transport function bar shows LOADING 1 of 9 to indicate which cue is
