When conditioning is completed, carefully clean the Ceramic with a lint free cloth and isopropyl
Alcohol IPA \ Ethanol. Do not remove the motor from the base during cleaning.
! General remark
: Conditioning should be repeated if the motor is removed from the stage and
then reinstalled or if the preload is released.
4.1.
MAINTENANCE
The SE motors have no user repairable or replaceable parts. However, the user might need to clean
the motor tips and ceramic drive plane from time-to- time. The frequency of cleaning depends on
the operating environment and type of operating conditions.
Do not remove the cover of the SE motor. The motor has high voltage inside
when power is applied.
To clean the motor tips and ceramic plane:
1. Remove power from the motor.
2. Turn the turn the pre-load screw such that the dot is facing away from the
motor tips.
3. Loosen the motor mounting screws.
4. Wipe the Drive Strip and motor tips using a piece of lint free cloth and
isopropyl alcohol or ethanol.
5. Reset the motor according to the procedures in Motor Installation.
6. Perform motor conditioning (Caution ! Do not use abrasive methods to clean
the ceramic and/or the motor tips).
