8.1 Activating Single or Multi mode
Press and click
(Knob 12)
to switch between Single Mode and Multi Mode.
After powering on, you are are always in Single Mode:

This is the linear memory model and selecting a kit is made via
(Data)
wheel or the
(Up/Down)
buttons, and the loading with
(Enter)
. Every Kit preset location contains
a list of parameters for every 11 instr FX that are loaded upon entering.
If you press and click
(Knob 12)
, the Alpha Base switches to multi mode and the
display shows:

The 3-digit number right to the name (“MultiKit”) is the number of the 128 possible
Multi Sets. The numbers right of that represent the 11 instrument pointer numbers in
ascending order, i.e. KD, MB, CH, OH, CLP, RIM, CRH, RID, X1, X2, FM.
If the cursor is at the upper leftmost position, selecting one of 128 possible Multi Kits is
made via
(Data)
wheel or the
(Up/Down)
buttons and loaded with
(Enter)
.
