Statement introduced in Junos OS Release 9.0 for EX Series switches.
Description
Configure up to 16 forwarding classes with multiple forwarding classes mapped to single
queues. If you want to configure up to eight forwarding classes with one-to-one mapping
to output queues, use the
queue
statement instead of the
class
statement at the
[edit
class-of-service forwarding-classes]
hierarchy level.
On EX8200 switches, you can assign a fabric priority to a forwarding class. The fabric
priority determines scheduling priority of packets ingressing the switch fabric. In addition,
for interfaces on the 40-port SFP+ line card, the fabric priority determines whether
packets are sent to the high or low priority queue for ingressing the port group. The primary
use of this option is to prevent high priority input traffic from being dropped due to
congestion on the port group of a 40-port SFP+ line card.
