You can select the optical digital sound output, either PCM or DOLBY DIGITAL when your TV
is connected to an amplifier that has DOLBY DIGITAL decoder. If you select DOLBY DIGITAL,
you can enjoy listening in 5.1ch sound when watching digital broadcasts. This only effects
digital channels.

Notes:
• If your amplifier does not have DOLBY DIGITAL decoder, select PCM. If you don't select
PCM, it cannot output the sound from the speakers.
• For connecting an amplifier using the optical output, see page 20.
• You cannot output sound from your Optical Output connection if the audio source is from your
HDMI device.
These settings allow you to change and adjust the sound on your television.
Bass –
You can increase or decrease the level of low-frequency sound in the TV’s audio with
the bass adjustment.
Treble –
Use treble to adjust the level of high-frequency sound in your TV’s audio.
Balance –
Adjust the level of sound between the TV’s left and right speakers with the balance
setting.
