Symptom
Tracks cannot be joined.
When playing back the joined
portion, you will hear noise.
Mechanical noises are heard and
the cabinet slightly vibrates.
No sound is heard.
Unable to operate the remote
control.
If “ERROR” appears in the main
display.
If “ERROR! SPK DC OUT”
appears in the main display and no
sounds come from the speaker.
External keyboard does not work
at all.
Operations are disabled.
Possible Cause
• These tracks are recorded in different
recording modes or in different
albums.
• The total playing time of the joined
track exceeds 3 hours in the Linear
PCM format or 24 hours in the AAC
format.
You have joined some tracks recorded
from a live CD.
The hard disk is constantly rotating at
high speed when the power is on,
causing imperceptible mechanical
noises and cabinet vibration.
Connections are incorrect or loose.
• The path between the remote control
and the remote sensor on the unit is
blocked.
• The batteries have lost their charge.
• You are using the remote control far
from the main unit.
Something is wrong with your unit.
The volume is too high.
The keyboard is not fully discharged
electrically.
The built-in microprocessor has
malfunctioned due to external electrical
interference.

on the unit at the same time, or do not unplug the unit then plug it back in while
recording, compressing (Smart Compression) or editing the data in the HDD; otherwise, the data will be damaged.
Action
• This is normal. You cannot join these
tracks.
• This is normal. The total playing time
of a track cannot exceed these hours.
If the tracks have been recorded
digitally, this cannot be avoided.
To avoid this, use analog recording
method when recording these tracks
(see page 51). Then join them later.
This is normal.
Check all connections and make
corrections (see pages 6 to 9).
• Remove the obstruction.
• Replace the batteries (see page 9).
• Signals cannot reach the remote
sensor. Move closer to the main unit.
Unplug the unit immediately, then
consult your dealer.
Turn off the unit and unplug it, then
consult your dealer.
Turn off the unit, then turn it on back
again after a while.
