3.2.3 Removing the CD servo board
(See Figs.5 and 6)
• Remove the traverse mechanism assembly.
(1) From the bottom side of the traverse mechanism assem-
bly, remove the solders from the solder sections

(2) Remove the wire (yellow) from the solder sections

(3) Remove the wire (white) from the solder sections

(4) Remove the two screws

attaching the CD servo board.

(5) Remove the CD servo board from the claws

in the direc-
tion of the arrow and turn the CD servo board over. (See
Fig.5)
(6) Solder the short land sections

on the CD pickup. (See
Fig.6)
(7) Release the lock of the connector

on the CD servo
board in the direction of the arrow and disconnect the card
wire. (See Fig.6)
Caution:
• Solder the short land sections
g
on the CD pickup before dis-
connecting the card wire from the connector
CN601
on the
CD servo board. If the card wire is disconnected without at-
taching solder, the CD pickup may be destroyed by static
electricity. (See Fig.6)
• When attaching the CD servo board, be sure to remove sol-
ders from the short land sections
g
after connecting the card
wire to the connector

on the CD servo board. (See
