1.4 DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY OF OP BLOCK
1.4.1
Precautions
1. Throughout disassembly/assembly of the OP block as-
sembly, pay careful attention to the CCD image sensor,
optical LPF, lens and so on not to damage or soil them,
particularly to their respective surfaces so as to prevent
them from getting dust, soiled or scratched. If some of
them is soiled with a fingerprint, etc., wipe it out with sili-
cone paper, clean chamois, cleaning cloth, or the like.
2. The spare CCD image sensor is occasionally shipped
from the factory as the protection seal is stuck onto its
transparent glass. If so, leave the protection seal as it is
and remove it just before assembling the new CCD im-
age sensor to the OP block assembly.
1.4.2 Disassembly
1. Unsolder the CCD board assembly by 14 terminals (SD1).
2. Remove one screw (1) and then remove the CCD board
assembly.
Note
1: If the CCD board assembly is removed together with
the CCD base assembly, it is not required to remove
the screw (1).
3. Remove two screws (2, 3) and then remove the CCD base
assembly.
Note
2: When removing the CCD base assembly, pay heed
to the spacer rubber and optical LPF, for they are also
removed together with the CCD image sensor.
Note
3: Replace the CCD image sensor as it is mounted on
the CCD base assembly. In other words, remove the
old CCD image sensor from the CCD base assem-
bly and mount a new CCD image sensor on it.
4. Remove the CCD spacer, optical LPF and spacer rubber.
1.4.3 Assembly
1. As the optical LPF is fitted with the spacer rubber, set it
in the holder located in the center of the lens of the OP
block assembly.
Note
4: When mounting the optical LPF, pay heed to its ori-
entation because it has different surfaces in the front
and back sides.
2. Making sure that the spacer rubber and optical LPF are
positioned right, mount the CCD spacer and CCD base
assembly and fasten them with two screws.
3. Mount the CCD board assembly and fasten it with one
screw.
4. Solder 14 terminals (SD1) of the CCD base assembly.
1.4.4 Replaceable parts of OP block assembly
Besides the CCD image sensor, replaceable parts for servic-
ing the OP block assembly are as follows.
• Focus motor
• Zoom motor
• Iris motor unit
Note
5: The iris motor unit includes one FPC assembly and
two sensors.
Note
6: Throughout disassembly/assembly work, be very
careful not to break the FPC and not to overheat any
part during soldering.
Note
7: When soldering the focus motor and zoom motor,
slightly lift up the FPC so that there is a space of 1
mm or so remaining between the FPC and termi-
nals.
