To turn off the power (into standby mode),
press
(STANDBY/ON) again.
The STANDBY lamp lights up, and the front
door automatically closes. (The MAIN ROOM
ON/OFF and/or SUB ROOM ON/OFF lamp
goes off.)
• A small amount of power is consumed in standby mode. To turn
the power off completely, unplug the AC power cord.
From the remote control:
1. Set MAIN ROOM/SUB ROOM
(LEARN/TRANSMIT) selector to
“SUB ROOM.”
Now the buttons on the remote control work
for the sub-room operations.
2. Press AUDIO (ON).
The STANDBY lamp on the unit goes off, and the SUB ROOM
ON/OFF lamp on the unit lights up.
• When connecting the sub-room front speakers to the
FRONT 2/SUB ROOM SPEAKERS terminal, see also
“Preparing for the Sub-Room Operations—SUB ROOM” on
page 40, and “Activating the Sub-Room Front Speakers” on
page 30.

Canceling the Sub-Room Operations
On the unit:
To stop the sub-room operations and sounds
through the sub-room speakers, press SUB ROOM
ON/OFF so that the SUB ROOM ON/OFF lamp goes
off.
No sound will be heard in the sub-room, and the
display changes to show the main room source.
To use this receiver for the sub-room operations again
1. Press SUB ROOM ON/OFF again so that the
SUB ROOM ON/OFF lamp lights up.
2. Press SUB ROOM CONTROL (inside the
front door).
The name of the current source for the sub-
room appears on the display.
From the remote control:
To stop the sub-room operations and sounds
through the sub-room speakers, press SUB ROOM
ON/OFF so that the SUB ROOM ON/OFF lamp on
the unit goes off.
To use this receiver for the sub-room operations
again, press SUB ROOM ON/OFF again.
Notes:
• If you have turned off the sub-room sound with the volume level set
at more than level “–35 dB,” the volume level will be automatically
set at level “–35 dB” next time you turn on the sub-room sound.
• If “TURN ON MAIN OR SUB ROOM” appears on the display, press
MAIN ROOM ON/OFF or SUB ROOM ON/OFF to listen to the
sound in the main room or in the sub-room; otherwise, the receiver
will turn off after about 1 minute.
