Completing the Driver Installation
(Windows 98/98SE Only)
Follow these instructions only after installing the Windows 98/98SE drivers, as
explained on page 19. Once done, and after you have rebooted your system:
Turn ON the JX-MP256FM:
1. If not already ON, turn on the JX-MP256FM by pressing and holding the
button
until the unit begins to operate.
Set it for Operation as a USB Drive:
2. If the Main Menu (see page 12) does not appear, press and hold the
button until
the Main Menu is displayed. Once done, select the SYS icon by pressing either the

button until the SYS icon is highlighted. Then press
to enter the
System Menu.
3. Use the
to scroll to the
OnlineDev.
menu selection and press

4. There are two choices as to how your JX-MP256FM can be used to exchange
digital files with your PC. Highlight
USB Disk,

to return to the
System Setup menu. Now, whenever your unit is connected to your PC, it acts as a

5. As another drive in your system, Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) can be
used to readily copy, delete, move, or exchange folders and files between your PC
and the JX-MP256FM. If you are not comfortable using Windows Explorer, consult
your Windows documentation, or a friend with the proper experience.

Connecting the JX-MP256FM to your PC
