Proper tightness of axles, axle screws and other threaded fasteners is the most important
part of the safe performance of these items. Most K2 skates are equipped with thread
coatings as part of the retention system for the skate axles. The effectiveness of these
thread coatings can be reduced after repeated removal of the axles. A periodic reapplica-
tion of thread coating or replacement of axle hardware is recommended.
Cleaning the Boot
K2 Softboot inline skate boots can be hand-washed with mild soap, warm water, and a
nylon brush. Use as little water as possible to avoid damaging the inner construction of
the boot or the appearance of the boot exterior materials. DO NOT get any soap or water
on the last board, rivets or hardware (wheels, frame, etc). DO NOT dip the boot in water
or put it in the washing machine.
1. Remove the footbed.
2. Lightly dampen the nylon brush and gently rub both inside and outside of your
boot.
3. Allow the boot to dry naturally, DO NOT use hair dryer or other heating device
as it may cause the materials to shrink.
4. When dry, you may spray a small amount of foot deodorizer on the inner boot
lining.
