7.9 Maintenance
7.9.1 Restart
The Compact Reader is restarted after a
restart
. Saved parameter settings and data are retained.
The
restart
takes around 3 s.
1. Switch the power off and on again.

7.9.2 INI
reset
With an
INI reset
, the Compact Reader is reset to its basic state, i.e., the parameter settings and
data are deleted and reset to their initial values (factory settings).
The 3 different types of INI reset are described below:
INI reset with DIP switch 6
INI reset with programmer 1460
INI reset with programming Master
7.9.2.1 INI reset with DIP switch 6
An
INI reset
takes around 3 seconds before the remote reader is ready for operation once more.
The access point is blocked for the entire time.

1. Switch off the power supply on the Compact Reader
2. Set DIP switch 6 to ON
3. Switch on the power supply at the Compact Reader
(in the case of an uninterrupted power supply, changing the
status of DIP switch 6 has no effect)
After the registration unit
beeps, LEDs flash orange
(all)
2x short beeps, then
red/green flashing
4. Switch off the power supply at the Compact Reader, set
DIP switch 6 to OFF and switch the power supply for the
Compact Reader on again
5. Compact Reader is in operation again
