Dismantling and disposal
10.1 General
information
Devices are disposed of by the operator. If uncertainties that pose a danger to persons or the
environment should arise during a proper disposal process, the sales partner will be happy to
provide information.
10.2 Dismantling
To dismantle the Compact Reader in an access control system, proceed as follows:
1. During online operation: Check the configuration of the host system
2. Switch off the power supply for the Compact Reader
3. Remove the RS-485 connection to the host system
4. Dismantle the Compact Reader
IMPORTANT
The terminating resistors of all the affected components must be checked following any dismantling
procedure. The configuration of the host system must also be checked.
10.3 Disposal
Before disposal, the system/device must be put out of operation by the sales partner.

Disposal regulations
Old devices contain valuable recyclable materials which should be recovered. When the system or
device is disposed of, the national and regional laws and guidelines must always be observed.
To the best of our knowledge, this device does not contain any materials (in terms of the
concentrations or applications involved) whose circulation within products is prohibited according to
the relevant requirements under Directive
2002/95/EC ("RoHS")
