Chapter 11
Obstetric Measurement
Obstetric calculations are generally performed in B mode. When the measurement is beyond the
image area, the measured value is not displayed as an invalid value. In B, B|B frozen mode, press
key
to enter obstetric measurement dialog box, as shown below:
11.1 Measurement and Calculation items
Measure the gestational age and estimated date of confinement for bovine, equine, ovine, canine, feline,
goat, llama and swine.
11.2 Obstetric-Bovine
Operation steps:
1. In the obstetric measurement dialog box, slide your finger up or down to select left

then slide up or down to select the right measured parameters of bovine, click
OK
to start the
obstetric measurement and the positioning icon appears on the screen; Click
CANCEL
to give up
the measurement;
2. The measurement method refers to the “Distance” measurement of B general measurement;
3. The corresponding measured result, Gestational Age (GA) and Estimated Delivery of Confinement
(EDC) is displayed on the right side of the screen;
4. Press
key to clear measurement mark and the result.
11.3 Obstetric-equine, ovine, canine, feline, goat, llama and swine
The measurement method refers to “OB-Bovine” measurement.
11.4 Measurement of Swine’s lean percentage
% Lean calculation formula uses NSIF formula.
1. In the obstetric measurement dialog box, slide your finger up or down to select left

then slide up or down to select the right measured parameter “%Lean”, click
OK
to start the lean
percentage measurement, a middle vertical line and the positioning icon appears on the screen;
Click
CANCEL
to give up the measurement;
