1. Turn off the engine.
2. Remove the drain plug and sealing washer, and the oil filler cap.
3. Drain the oil into a suitable vessel.
4. Reinstall the drain plug and sealing washer. Tighten the plug securely.
5. Refill the oil reservoir with the recommended oil and check the level.
WARNING
Used engine oil can cause skin cancer over long periods of contact with the
skin. Even though it is unlikely to happen, it is still recommended that you wash your hands
thoroughly with soap and water as soon as possible after handling used oil.
WARNING
Used engine oil must be disposed of in an environmentally friendly and legal
manner. Drain the oil into a sealed container and take it to a waste disposal facility. Do not
throw it in the trash or pour it onto the ground.
Cleaning Air Filter
A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor. To prevent
carburetor failure, service the air filter regularly. If the generator
is operated in a dusty area, service the filter more often.
WARNING
Using gasoline or flammable solvents to clean
the filter element may cause a fire or explosion. Use only soapy
water or a non-flammable solvent.
NOTE!
Never run the generator without the air cleaner. This
will wear out the engine quickly.
1. Remove the screws securing the air filter cover, then remove the air filter cover and
remove the filter element.
2. Wash the element in a solution of household detergent and warm water, and thoroughly
rinse or wash the element in a non-flammable or high flash point solvent. Allow the
cartridge to dry completely.
3. Soak element in clean engine oil and squeeze out excess oil (engine may emit smoke
during initial start-up if too much oil is left in filter element).
4. Reinstall the air cleaner element and reinstall the cover.
